I decided at the spur of the moment to have a quick after work hunt since it was so beautiful out today. The first coin I found was a 1903 V nickel, it appears to have been lost shorly arter being minted. Then came a memorial penny and a clad dime. The next target sounded a little odd with the Coinstrike, but also sounded promising. Out of the hole pops an antique coin purse frame
! Well like any red blooded detectorist I got a little excited, thinking there HAS to be some coins in this hole. It turns out there were no coins in the purse
. I dug a bunch of dirt out of the hole and scanned everything repeatedly hoping for a signal, but it was not to be. It was probably filled with paper cash and rotted away long ago with the leather. Oh well, the adrenaline rush was nice.
Anyway I ended up with a coin spill of 1.15 in clad, a 1943-D nickel, and an old arcade or slot machine token.
