Rainy mega-hunt nets 19 keepers

Third virgin site of the year this weekend and it was awesome! An old park that is now private property got me 4 V nickels, two Buffalos, 5 Indian heads, two Mercs, three Barber dimes, one Seated dime, a standing liberty quarter, and a bucket lister two-cent piece.

DANG!! That's equal to my last couple seasons of detecting! Those virgin sites are hard to come by more and more each day, so kudos for your research and congrats on a VERY productive day...Ddf.

Yeah tell me about it - research has been very, very good to me this year. This is my fourth hunt I've had like this, third trifecta (two seated-barber-merc and one nickel trifecta with shield-V-buffalo), my third 6+ silver hunt, and I've more than tripled my keepers from last year and had my highest silver year since I started keeping track 4 years ago. I've gotten pretty good at identifying out-of-the-way sites in old aerial photos and I think that's what's helping me this year. Plus, the CTX is a heck of a machine!

I need a hunt like that, well I’ve never had a hunt like that. That must have been amazingly fun. Big congrats!!

I usually get one like this per year, but it's been a real good year with this being my 4th like that!

I'm curious to see what's left there. It's less than an acre in size, and I was digging everything. Pretty quiet after 7 hours!
