Ran out of time

Came across displacement dirt piles from an old cemetery on the bordering property I was searching briefly before work this morning and only had minutes to MD the 3’ to 4’ piles of dirt and spill off dirt areas before I had to head to work. On my second pass of a small section pulled a 1941 wheat penny out 6” down and immediately wanted to call out sick but didn’t can’t wait to return tomorrow morning

Thanks getting ready to head back there and hopefully find more laid out all my gear in back seat of my truck last night so I quickly set up will have about 2 hours of search time but probably won’t be enough to cover that whole area and wish the weather was a little better in Conshy it’s been cloudy and raining since last Friday

Good luck on your return trip. When you get to be my age, you dont have to worry about calling in sick. You just detect right then and there. Retirement is a good thing. Congrats on your Wheats.

I do the same thing at the cemetery's around me ! It seems they just have a set dump spot so every couple of months I make my rounds . I've found a 1864 IH , and a 1593 king Phillip of Spain 2 marevidis coin counter stamped circa 1620 ! Keep doing it and post your finds I'm interested.

Only another wheat (1944) this morning but only there for about 45 minutes before heading to work but have you ever removed a few inches after initial search due to the height of the piles you search
