Spent 4 hours (8 man hours) finishing the stubble field, after such a good day yesterday, our hopes were a little high & we were somewhat disappointed. :tongue3:

However, it wasn't a bust & we got a few OK items:

Tudor Buckle with pin
Medieval Dagger Chape
Medieval Leather Mount
Couple of buttons

Now what are we going to do :dontknow:

Definately time to find a Roman gold cache, of course! You've already found everything else.

They are also called 'double looped' buckles here & also 'spectacle'. :icon_thumright:

I love the tudor buckle, amazing with the pin in it.

Did you find any new fields?
I'm sure you will be digging in no time, doubt you will hold back until august... :icon_pirat:

Cheers

No new fields until harvest but we will return to this one:
http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,400486.0.html

Its rained a little & might be softer :-\ It's not a field we like because its large, no crop marks, not near any settlement, & not near water. But its all we have, so we will make the best try we can.

I don't know, those Victoria Farthings are pretty cool finds here in the States. We sometimes find them at old Civil War and homesites in the area. If I know you, you'll be onto a nice new site before long my friend

All I have to say it seems like even a bad day for you would be a great day for me. Heck, if I can get something from the early 1900s I'm excited, let alone things dating from the 1800s or older, a single artifact from the 1700s would make my year, I can't even imagine digging medieval stuff :o
