Another bummer day. I went to a small lake beach this morning. I've been told by others that this is not a good area for me to hunt. They tell me it has "bad" elements. I figured that since I go early in the morning that the "bad" elements would probably be asleep or wiped out etc. So I hunt there anyway. It suppose it could be that I was told that to keep ME away. It doesn't matter because the few times I've been there I don't find anything anyway. I have to confess that my mind was telling me over and over to watch out for alligators. Now this is a marked swim beach but..... it is a lake. Gator's could be there. Mmmmmmm

My take for today was a whole - drum roll here please - 2 quarters, 1 dime and 4 pennies. Ah well tomorrow is another day. Now I am waiting to read about all the great finds the rest of you are making. ::)

Look at it this way Mumszie..You are still able to get out there and detect. Thats a good thing.

I woke at 6 AM this morning with the idea of hitting this certain beach for some swing time. Instead I go back to sleep and am feeling much better about it. You just should go out when you feel like it as it is after all recreation.

I am in a treasure hunting funk myself. My favorite lakes have been picked clean and every where I show up there are a couple tall guys who are either hunting or finishing hunting. If it weren't for the $20 bill I found floating today, I'd have had a zero week. Sigh.

Today i found $1.70 at my local beach :tongue3:..2 hours hunting. hope we all have better luck next time!

watch out for them gaters Wanda....it wouldn't be pretty. Better luck next time.

Hey Mumzie, glad ya got out..but UGH...I dont think I would wanna hunt a lake there in florida.... them gators are sneaky quiet buggers... ugh.. just be super careful...

Too bad, better luck next time. :icon_sunny:

I just found out why I never find anything at my beach. I went to my local MD store today because it was raining (we go there and shoot the breeze), an older man (maybe 61) comes in grinning ear to ear. He pulls out 2 sandwich Ziploc bags filled with jewelry. They were about 75% silver rings and 25% gold rings, with a few necklaces in the mix. All from the beach that I hunt. He said it was all from the 4th of July up to yesterday. He said he hits the beach everyday rain or shine. That's why I struggle to get even a dollar when I go...

He said, and I got a kick out of it "I have bad arthritis in both hands, 2 knee replacements, had a stroke, but other than that I'm in great shape" LOL

We all have days like the Mumzie. Hang in there!
