Primary Interest:
Relic Hunting
On Dec. 14 &15, Doug & I traveled to Arkansas to hunt CW relics with our Oklahoma friends John Freeman, John Jr. (J.J.), and Greg Wicks. Unfortunately, Josh (Tyree) & Terry Stewart couldn’t make this hunt. We hunted 3 different sites along an old military road used by C.S. & U.S. troops. Our finds are shown on the 3 towels with the exception of a post CW US rosette dug by Greg, 2 pistol balls found by John, and Doug’s first Marshall Enfield bullet. Not many of those here in Tennessee. J.J’s best find was a 1908 Barber dime along a camp road. John was the bullet master again with the most bullets and my best find was my first Confederate knapsack triangle. It looks different that the others I have dug. Greg dug the post CW rosette that got his BP up when he saw it in the hole-LOL.
I am still amazed at the variety of bullets we dig in Arkansas:
Balls-.36 & .44 Colts, Buck ‘n Balls, .69 cal.
Pistol conical bullets-.32 Smith & Wesson, .36 & .44 Colts, one Maynard.
Carbine bullets-.54 Sharps, Ringtail Sharps, Gallagers, Starr, Spencer.
3 ring-.54, .58s.
Enfield-Doug’s Marshall Enfield.
We had a great time hunting & visiting with our friends. HH & Merry Christmas from the Tennessee Trio & our Okie friends. Enjoy the video, Q.

Thanks to all you friends who replied. BB, it was tough walking in the disked field. All 3 of those sites had been searched hard. Cru, landowners here in Tennessee strongly object to to showing any recognizable views of their property. I know people who lost permission by showing landmarks. Merry Christmas to all, Q.

Great finds and video Quindy. I could not believe it when the Jim Reeves song started to play. Most people under 50 years old dont even know who he was. In the late 1970's my dad recorded an album in Nashville. When they played his songs on the radio locally, they would refer to him as "Joliet's own Jim Reeves". My dad sounded exactly like the man. My dad passed away last year, and we knew he had many albums recorded by Jim Reeves, but after going thru them, I think he had every one ! I listen to my dads album frequently, and just wanted to thank you for the unintended memories you gave me when I started your video. Ron

Having grown up near Nashville TH, we had some of the old Country Music stars & Cincinnati Reds ball players come to duck hunt where I grew up. I vividly recall returning from the barn and hearing about the plane crash that killed Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, & Hawkshaw Hawkins. A sad day for Country Music. HH, Q.
