Reading a rock

Is there anything that can put or sprinkled on a rock where it's hard to read all of the symbols to make them more clear. I don't want to mess up the readings though. I have found several rocks this week all within an acre of each other all rocks are about 1'x 3' in size and all with points at one end all pointing in the same direction.

Thanks

I'll bet someone has a better idea than this, but when I track at night, it helps to shine a light almost parallel to the ground, maximizing the shadows. In daylight, I would suggest just experimenting with the angle at which you view the rocks.

spray shaving cream on the rocks, cover with a large piece of aluminum foil,, and squeegie over the foil with a credit card.......this works real well on tombstones...........gldhntr
