Real or fake WL half, need help, pics

I am fairly new to this and have never found a WL but today i pulled this out of my box. The gold coating, plus it seems to be coated on the silver parts too, is throwing me off. some sort of super glue on the front. I wonder if its fake because i see way more detail than i think i should on a 1941. Any insight would be helpful. oh also the sound does seem to lean towards the silver sound.

If it sounds silver, it probably is authentic. Its got about average details for a Walker in the 40s. A lot of them were plated and sold as commemoratives via telemarketers/TV/Magazines back when silver was cheap. It looks like they did a poor job plating it, but so long as it sounds silver, I see no reason why it would be fake.

Put a magnet to it. If it sticks, then you know.

I agree with Lad, lot of these were painted up and sold off as commemoratives when silver was low.

Many real Walkers were gold plated and used in jewelry pieces...most often pendants and belt buckles. This is most likely what this is and, while a tad ugly, still a Walker.

check weight and diameter and look with magnifying glass for any errors

As for the glue on your coin. 5 had a silver eagle dollar that came off a bola tie. It had epoxy all over one side of it. I heated it up with a propane torch and the epoxy softened up to a gel consistency. Came off real easy and didn't hurt the coin. Just make sure you hold the coin with pliers (had to put in the warning ). Not sure if the glue on your coin is the same but I thought I would put that out there.

I found one like that myself. Just wash off the glue you will have a unique "gold walker". Soaking in water for 2 hours the glue will swell and you peel it off. Enjoy the beauty!
