Take it in to Denny's and try to buy a cup of coffee with it!

I really wish I could but it expired 21 years ago lol

That is strange, never saw one of those before :icon_scratch: Had two Denny's here but long since gone. Even Happy Chef is in the past here.

Yeah, but the look on the cashier's face would be priceless. And you never know, they just might honor it! If you really wanted to press it, demand to speak with the manager.

Sounds good I will have to try that

Lol! Funny about taking the token back. I have a good store about taking a token back. Awhile back I found a old token witch sad something like good for 10 cents of next purchase or 25 percent off. With the name of the business on the other side. Low and behold the business was still in existence. It was a shoe store that has been family owned and operated for over a hundred years. So I go in the store start look around start talking to the guy working there, witch was the owner. So I said to the guy "jokingly" I have this token can I get 25 percent off. Hay it had no expiration date!! He looked at me funny then I explained how I found this token down the street metal detecting. I gave it to him to look and next thing I know the guy is reaching in his pocket trying to give me money for it. No I said its yours I am just returning it, it has you last name on it I said. This guy was almost in tears he thought it was so cool. Seeing as there business was there last name. He had never seen one or never knew such a token existed. He told me his great great grandfather also owned a pool hall next to the shoe store in the early 1900's and that's were he thought it might of come from. It was older, early 1900's was my guess. Anyway I gave it him ,sure made his day.

Very nice story and very kind of you Helix!! In the same category as a ring return as far as I'm concerned!

Check it again; does it say "In Denny's we trust" or does it read: "In Lenny's we trust"--as it appears to read here:
Denny's Dough One Dollar 1991 Vintage Medallion Coin | eBay
Don.....
Don, is there any coin you DON"T know about? LOL! You're awesome, dude!
I liked the first line on that auction, "I am not an expert on anything I sell", lawl! I may have to steal that line! LOL!

I'm wondering who is the figure on the coin. I thought it was Barbara Bush, at first. LOL!
Helix, great story and very great of you!
HH all!

P-T-C,
Actually, I initially know little about the coins I comment on, but I do the research and then post; constantly learning in the process.
