What's up folks? It's been a while since I've posted, I've been finding lots of buttons and bullets lately, all on my property in La Grange, TN. The two front and center buttons are my favorites. The cuff button and the one to the left have quite a bit of gold gilt left. The one to the left of the cuff is a Wisconsin militia button, the rest are artillery and infantry buttons, I believe.
I don't know what half of the items in the second pic are, I'm especially curious about the iron "markers" up against the axe head. They each have a 2 and 1/2 inch spike on the back and two small sharp points on the front for holding a name plate or something, hoping they're not grave markers. Any other i.d. help is appreciated.

Amazing finds.
Be careful, there might be some unexploded ordinance there!

A relic hunters dream site...amazing finds dude, all of that would make for an AWESOME display case.

WoW I would work that sight one square foot at a time. Ripping up the soil would have to wait if it was mine. Looks like you have a virgin campsite there. Today that is as rare as the left wing off a virgin hen.. LOL
Need some help recovering all those goodies let me know.. ;D

A CW encampment in your back yard, awesome! HH, Mike

The lead seals got me wondering.....Are you near RR tracks? 8)

That is REALLY an amazing haul!

I'd love to hunt a place like that. . .

Take care,

Omg! Thats incredible, how did you find all that? was it a restricted battlefield?

I'm pretty sure he said in his post they was all found on his own property

Looks like you have you a decent little spot Chopper. Looks like some of the spots that I use to have.

Man, you're killing me with all those nice finds! Congratulations and hope there is plenty more where they came from.

Nice finds! I too have such a site here on my farm. It truly is a blessing to be able to walk outside and dig relics. Keep hammering that site and keep posting!
Mike

I also see in the third pic from the second round of pic's at least 6 or 7 scabbard tip's and at least one cartridge box "finial"......I could make TN in a few hour's......Nice find's chopper....

J.R. Silver,
yup, I'm within 100 feet of the tracks, in fact I haven't even really touched the 2 acres closest to the tracks because there's a sh!t ton of trash, there was a club and movie theater there up until the 60's I think. I just don't have the patience yet, but the map I have of the area shows 4 structures there in 1865, one of the buildings was huge. The area I'm hunting hasn't been lived on in 100 years and was only accessible by foot until I put my road in 5 years back. It's a 2-3 acre spot surrounded by 12-20 foot gullies on all sides. Somebody mentioned finding the spot with iron signals everywhere. I know 2 spots, both on the edges of the high ground, I didn't disturb either spot with the backhoe fortunately and I'll take a shovel to those areas soon.
By the way, I found this circular aluminum object that's about the size of the top of a beer can and it says Golden Peace Crew or Creed, the object is cut in half and I can't make out the last letter or two, just "Cre". It's pictured above but with a lot of other stuff and the letters are not legible in the photo.
I'd love to have some help, but I'll have to work on my wife first. Thanks again for all the info.

Those lead seals are pretty common near tracks. As somebody stated before, they were used to seal cars and packages to keep them from being tampered with. You have a pretty good site there and I am as jealous as most. Keep at it and just remember.......unless time is limited.....take all the time you can and work it hard. 8)

Awesome finds, looks like a good campsite!

Wow, that's a lot of nice relics.
