Met up with my buddy John and I went back to the fire pit I had started a few weeks ago. I found more bones, broken glass, dishes, square nails and some brass stuff. All the bottles were broken and I filled it back in, whew! Good practice for hut digging at Div. I got in a couple hours of surface hunting, I have yet to clean up some of the pit finds but I hope to have time to get it posted soon. A few items in the pictures did come from the pit. A big white marble, some old buttons, some brass stuff. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Tim

hey great finds found 3 of those tax tokens all the way here in California

Cool finds Tsgman! Do you know what the "T" shaped relic is ( 1st pic, 1st row, 2nd object)? I found one just like it in a CW camp and was told it was a part of a Model A ignition system. No other modern finds in this site so I'm wondering if it is CW period. Thanks and HH!
Mike

Nice Finds. I agree Stoney, looks like a fired "TearDrop" bullet.

Mike you nailed it, those seem to turn up quite often. I sometimes wonder if they returned to the camps in those Model T's. Possibly for Gar reunions?

Nice job! What is that thing next to the chain?

Not sure seems like I have seen one before?

That is a fired 36 caliber Remington, also known as a teardrop. They were more prevalent here in the midwest since they were made at the St. Louis arsenal. I believe they are a rare find back East. Here is a pic of a unfired teardrop.

OK, thanks. For a sec., it looked like it had fins but see it's the rifling marks.

Way to go super nice finds.

Mike,
The T shaped relic is an Ignition Coil for a Model T....no doubt about it. I have one and information pertaining to it if you would like me to send it to you.

Well...when first I saw it in the pic, that was my question too! :D Thanks for answering that ya'll. I've found a couple around here, but didn't know what they were...hope I didn't toss 'em out. :P (Need no comments from Larry either. :P :D )

GREAT finds, Tim! Noticed that tax token. ;D Love the marble!

Best one I have dug so far, most are corroded.

Nice digs TSG! Must have been fun. The thing beside the chain, could it be from a harmonica? Big white marble, looks like a clay marble. HH, Mike
