I dug a decent Inf. button yesterday afternoon and a flat button with a flower design at a old Stage Coach stop with my buddy Steve. I also had the pleasure of running into Scott {Ridgerunner} yesterday. Nice meeting you Scott. He was at a annual log cabin, pioneer days event held yesterday. A friend of mine invited me and we took some CW relic displays to let the grade school kids see them. They had lots of questions and really liked to learn about the Civil War. I had a chance to hunt yesterday afternoon after I left the Pioneer Days event and really enjoyed it. The cabin had been dissasembled and rebuilt on this site and we did not do any hunting at all around that area. It was a great day and Idug a few more drops and a 3 ringer hammered flat. Another one that was carved and some melted camp lead. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Tim

It seems our table was the most popular, the kids and Parents kept coming back asking more questions. We let them hold a couple 69 caliber bullets. They had a better understanding about all the amputations and the damage those could do to you. They had tons of questions as well. I have done a couple other displays with some hunting buddies at a local grade school. they were just as enthusastic about learning about the Civil War.

Looks like those kids had a great time. That's nice of you to take time to teach children and share your finds. You found some great relics. Good luck.

Looks like a great time and a nice collection!!!
By the way, did you ever answer that kid with his hand raised???????

'Tis better to have the kids asking questions at an organized event, than having them pester you while you're trying to hunt.........NGE

Very nice finds and thoughtful of you to share your knowledge with the kids. I have done this many times and seem to always have a kid tell me that they have seen bullets like that in their grandpa's field or somewhere. I always get permission and go check it out but have always come up empty. However, if you continue to do this you may get lucky and find a productive site. Thanks for educating the kids-and their parents.

Lol, he asked a bunch of them, he was very interested and I bet he wants a metal detector for Christmas!

Thanks for sharing those pictures, Tim! Great cabin! I bet those kids learned a lot from you two! Neat that you ran into Scott! 8) I had the pleasure of hunting with him a few weeks ago.

Super post! And congrats on those finds! Nana

Very nice finds. That's really great how you shared those items with the kids!

It's always a good feeling to teach the young'uns, and to promote the hobby. You did good.
