Recent Finds From Va / Wv

All of these were found in Va. besides the drill and two points in hand in the 8th picture. The first piece is like a humpbacked knife with two stacked areas. Another preform that's pecked and a needle tipped Kirk stemmed I think.

Now that is becoming a rare sight out in the field. A needle tip like that one. That thing has some great flaking too. You did rack up. That broke base is not a hamilton is it? Looks older and to big. Maybe a Dalton base? Nice bunch of tools. Like the long scraper.

Thanks man, I hear you on needle tips...doesn't happen that often. I think the broken triangle is woodland but agree the flaking and size looks older, it would have been a killer imo.

nice finds 37. i notice the first piece has that hump or stacked area on it. i have a handful of pieces with the same stacked area. i was wondering why they left that, maybe for halfting, or maybe for a better grip?

That point is nice. That looks like the same flint I get here in NJ. I wonder where the source is and how far they traveled to get it.............GTP............
