I have been hunting recently in the Nashville area where myself and another guy ( Tom Williams) found a camp/old house site. Among my better finds is a #8 regimental kepi hat number, a Nashville Railway button (actually a streetcar button) from the late 1800's and a Confederate officer's button (#26, page 358 in Alberts book). The Confederate button has a recessed back with shark but no backmark. It's been way too hot to dig lately but we braved the heat for a few days that we could hunt. Tom found a lot more than I did including a complete hat pin. I was using a Fisher Gold Bug pro DP. Thanks for looking!

Great history there I wish I could find stuff like that .Thanks for the post!!!

Nice digs. The CS officers button is a great find and the street car button is pretty cool too.

Very nice finds and well worth a little digging in the heat...congrats.--JB

Thanks Steve.

Nice relic finds! Great saves!

Congrats on the CS button Donnie. That was a good site. Like the reg. "8" letter. Nice variety of finds from the history of Nashville. Tell Tom we said Hi. BTW, Doug will trade an eagle shield button for the Droop Wing button-LOL. WTG, Q.

Awesome finds. Stay cool.

Awesome finds. Stay cool.

I will Dman. This site is one that we can drive right up to, get out and walk 4 or 5 feet, and start hunting. I will hunt for 45 minutes or so and then sit down and drink water. The heat is just brutal.....wish it was the fall/winter!

You're making me homesick, Tennessee (grew up in Tullahoma). Congrats on some really nice finds!

Tommy G.....I've hunted in the area around Tullahoma, Manchester, Hillsboro, ect. There are still decent Confederate relics down there.

WOW! What an awesome hunt Donnie! I'm sure you were 'swinging in the trees' like those guy on TV! (*wink) Congratulations!
:)

Thanks Breezie......I'm way to old to jump up in a tree and swing but I was pretty excited. I still get "fired-up" when I find something pretty good. Thanks.

Great Saves!!! - Congratulations on the Droop Wing Confederate Officers button. That is a very rare relic to dig.

That kepi pin just jumps out. Glad you knew what it was. That's one way to make the Tn Trio jealous!
