recent ohio dig and field finds

hi everyone.got out saturday with Pik and did some diggin and field hunting.the first 4 pics are of a cache blade i dug up.it was in a fire,very good example of heat treated flint ridge,it spent some time in a fire,has a few fire popps on it.some nice flake blades,a nice core etc..thx pik for taking me to the dig site

The blade you're holding up to the light -- is it edge-worked or just showing heavy use wear/breakage ?

Would that and the other, similar ones by it be Woodland ?

thx uniface,the flake blade in first pic that im holding up to the light has a little edge work,in the second pic up to the light is a blade that has some edge work and has some use wear.i am thinking most of the stuff we pull out of the dig site are woodland.pik has found artifacts from all time periods there,but mostly woodland.and due to the amount of adena cache blades and other adena artifacts that have been found there,it appears to have been an adena campsite.

thx TnMts,no it doesnt have a hole in it.it does kind of look like that.it just has some major fire popps throughout it.

nice haul Greg, love seeing those beautiful ohio lithics. I've got a question for you, or anyone that may know. What causes the wide spectrum of color in flint ridge flint? I assume it's the presence of some mineral in the limestone, but that's just my best guess , anyone know specially?
