The rechargeable battery that came with my Minelab SE Pro (2012) doesn't seem to want to take a charge anymore. Is this normal? Time to order a new one? I know the problem is not with the charger itself. WTF. ???

The fact that you got five years of life out of the battery is good. Some articles suggest lithium ion batteries only last 2-3 years.

One thing that makes a huge difference in how long L-ion batteries last is the charge voltage. Nominally, the batteries are 3.7 volts/cell. A typical charger will charge them to 4.2 volts/cell. If you can limit the the charge voltage to no more than 4.0 volts/cell, you can double or triple their lifespan. There are chargers that allow you to set the top voltage, but they're spendy compared to the typical chargers that come with the batteries.

Hello Mr. Digger,

Go to RnB Innovations and buy their ML-3100 battery pack, I have 3 of them, you will not regret it!
