Im new to detecting and wonder which batteries to go with. I know the rechargeables dont last as long but I thought if you have more than one set you could do a switcharoo in the field and always carry a back up set of alkalines just in case. I hate putting money into throw aways but if they work better and are a lesser problem maybe thats the way to go. Ive had a cannon digital camera for 5 years and it still uses the same rechargeables I purchased with it. They work fine there, but a camera and a detector are two different breeds. What do you recommend?

I use rechargeables in my whites pi pro an can get well over 12 hours on a charge. the best part is I always start a hunt with a full charge an NEVER have to open the detector to chage out the batteries while out in the field . Been using them for almost 2 years an no problems whats so ever.
