Looking out the dining room windows seeing a bobcat walking the tree line.
A couple moments later here’s a red fox stalking it.
I never knew a fox would look to attack a large bobcat
It was great to watch the fox for over five minutes in its pursuit

I have a fox that shows up in my backyard occasionally, I really enjoy watching it.
Thanks again
They are fun to watch
I’m thinking there’s two of them living close by as we seem to see them more often

Dont think a red fox would want to get ahold of a bobcat believe he would come out on the loosing end of things.

Does bobcat have baby fox in mouth🤔🤘 my eyes are tired
That is a good question..
I was so so surprised when I saw it and I should have known better to keep my Canon camera charged nearby instead of looking for my phone
Watching the pursuit was exciting

Your really have the wildlife there Bill.
I think that Bobcat would have that Fox for dinner.
Thanks again..That was the largest bobcat I’ve ever seen here in the yard..
The fox spent along time going back and forth before walking slowly into the woods after the cat.
I don’t know the outcome but I also would have bet on the bobcat to see another day

It was so so exciting to watch the pursuit unfold
The fox did not want to walk away but I think perhaps the cats claws would make him retreat quickly

Cool encounter, nice photos and movies! Thanks for sharing with us!

Thank You
It always happens so so quickly ….I just saw the sun setting and shortly after
went to the dining room windows again and I see this large animal walking. It actually sat down for a few moments and I rush to get a picture.
A few moments pass and here’s the fox in pursuit.

The bobcat does have something in its mouth but I think it is a little late in the season for it to be a fox kit that small. Maybe the fox was hoping the bobcat would drop whatever it has or leave some leftovers.

hollARDog..you have better than 20/20 vision as I think perhaps you are right..I can see something in its mouth.
We’ve been seeing two foxes in the yard a lot lately

Everything unfolded so quickly and it was great to watch from inside the house ….the bobcat definitely snagged something and the fox might be its next meal
Take care

How cool to witness that. I don't know if a fox would pursue a bobcat, but you wouldn't think so. Maybe the fox was just keeping an eye it or maybe utilizing the bobcat as it hunts to either go after what the bobcat flushes out such as a rabbit that retreats right into the direction of the fox, or the fox has gotten good at stealing from the bobcat at what ever it catches? Really hard to say what some animals are up to at times. It was witnessed out on the eastern plains of Colorado that a coyote and badger had teamed up as hunting partners.

Thanks again.
I can imagine that food at times can be scarce for these and they will do whatever to survive
I’ll never know the outcome but this morning there is two more foxes
(Got a clip of one

I gotta agree with Bill....no way that fox would want to tackle a bobcat. Some of the bobcats around here weigh as much as 50lbs, and would be dangerous for an unarmed human. The biggest fox I've ever seen only weighed 15lbs....ain't much to 'em.
