I'm not complaining, but does anybody know why my refinery everytime I go there pays me more than 80% scrap? For example, I scored these three 14k gold bracelets on Sat. I took them today expexting around $600, but the gentleman tells me $701. It was 27.5 grams total of 14kt without stones on one bracelet. When I walked in there the gold price was at $1473. I use the website goldcalc.com. Easy process, but very diff result. As always, thank you in advance.

Thank you for the reply. That amount is correct, but that is at 100% scrap. As far as I know, they pay 80% scrap. Thanks.

Could it be Your refiner is paying you scrap & selling for jewelry value? Some jewelers will buy broken stuff just to have links etc on hand for sizing & restorations.

Our pays 98%. On gold. Maybe there somebody new in the area and they got to pay more in order to compete? Or they are paying more then 80%

Cool piece, nice $$ value! :icon_thumleft:

I would not complain
