Can anyone tell me why a seller would list a item with a BIN for $260 and then immediately issue a refund after I made the purchase and payed thru Paypal as soon as I made the purchase?

Seems like something is up as the seller hasn't responded back to me and now Paypal has a hold on the funds as I did a instant transfer and it has to process "out" from my bank account before they can credit it 'back" and then the funds go back into my Paypal account instead of back into my bank account.

I can understand if the seller listed at the wrong price or something like that but the listing was a few hours old so I would think the seller would have time to correct or cancel the wrong price. Seems kinda slim that something happened to this item in those few hours also...

Is is possible that my payment can cross and the sellers refund can cross and I will come up empty handed? I just can't figure out what the seller is up to and I haven't heard back from them few a few days in any way about why the issued me a refund. That is what is raising a red flag.

Still waiting for Paypal to lift the "hold".... What a pain in the butt and whats the purpose of doing this?!:icon_scratch:

Could be a error in pricing, or it could be the seller duel lists items on different sites. I don't think it is a scam as you should have no problem getting your money back.

Sounds like he deserves a negative feedback.

I agree, if no explanation is given as to why he immediately refunded you and didn't sell you the item. As a seller, I have had to refund someone their money after they paid and before I shipped, due to breakage or a lost item. I immediately message the buyers and explain why, it's called common courtesy. If this seller doesn't show you any, then you should return the favor with a big negative feedback.

Well, here it is 6 business days later and no refund from Paypal yet. Money ($260) was processed out of my bank account last Monday afternoon after I did the instant payment to the seller. Paypal has told me that the seller's refund can't be done until my original payment has been processed from my bank. If it left my account on 7/11, then I would think it would be "processed" within 24-48 hours.....I do all kinds of EBT transactions and never does anything take this long to "process"....

I think Paypal is yanking my chain and the seller has tried to refund me from a account that has no funds in it. The seller couldn't have been refunding me with the $260 from me as they issued the refund within mins of the purchase. That tells me the seller never had any intention of selling the item unless they messaged me to explain like diggummup said. Still no contact from the seller and there was never going to be contact imo... I have tried everyday....

Strange thing is the USA seller has a 100% feedback of 1113 and been a member since 2005...

The saga continues....

I agree with some. No scam. Item may have been listed an already been sold, or other reasons. But, if you think this billion dollar company (PayPal) has taken the time out to mess with you, I think you flatter yourself. And, no excuse for seller not messaging you.

I got in touch with Paypal on the phone again this afternoon and they finally credited me the $260 back so that was good. It must have triggered this email being sent from Ebay also:

"We had to remove this listing from the site and you're not required to complete the transaction. If you've already sent payment, the sale should process as normal and you don't have anything to worry about. If you have any questions about delivery, please check tracking or contact your seller. If you run into any trouble along the way eBay is here to help. Please visit the Resolution Center to help resolve any problems you may encounter.

This user is no longer registered on eBay."

I guess the seller decided at the last min to pack it in with Ebay or something....anywho, now just gotta wait up to 4-5 business days to transfer it back out of my Paypal account back into my bank account but at least it's back.

It just really sucks this happened as the item was something that my company needs and is willing to pay $1000 for so I could have made a really good profit. Maybe that's why I was so pissed too. Water under the bridge now...

I can't even leave a "big ole negative" either..lol!

Thanks all!

Not everything is a great big conspiracy. Yikes...

You are correct, I had Jesse Ventura look into it this afternoon and he told me the same....It is just another idiot Ebay seller that has no idea how to pull a listing when the item is no longer for sale even though most 8 year olds know better.

Thanks for your interest and have a great nite!
