Good question. It might be something like a piece off a decorative overhead lamp or some such.

Nice finds the tong thingy was used to pick up chocolates so the women back in the day wouldn't get it on there white gloves. I found them at my older sites.

I'm just stretching for any possibility but like a chandelier. Added for the sake of esthetics.
It also reminds me of an old "belt" I saw somewhere too. Notice the ends have holes for possibly connecting
to another link. Maybe there were several of these pieces linked together? Maybe a sword belt?

Maybe just another stretch. But might the linked plates have something to do with native american wear of some sort?

Nailed It! Found one myself years ago by the Bradley Smith Company.
