Hello All,
Hill Billy and I went out for a little old-style housesite hunting. We found three new spots out walking the woods and beating the brush today. First spot I dug zinc jar lid after zinc jar lid. I know I dug at least a dozen--and it sounds like HB dug a bunch of 'em too. Got a couple of interesting relics... Reign guides, a tiny piece of a harmonica reed, a cool old brass drawer handle, an odd piece of decorative brass (I have a hunch it's half of a small, two-piece buckle), and a really cool heel plate with a star cut-out. I was pretty stoked to find it. The plate appears to have been worn a LONG time, since the back of it is quite thin. Here are the photos of one of the spots we found. The cellar hole is amazing (I'm sure HB will dig it out and see what's there). It's pretty darned deep, but incredibly well-preserved. I think HB is mesmerized by it in the photo.


And here's one of the old wells we found. This wasn't the deepest one, but they were all uncovered on the sites.
