Relics and coins from today's outing with The Pitdiggers Battle of Bull Run

Hello All..

Wow.. I have not spent this much time walking fields in a long time.. hurting already!! Today's finds are from the battle of Bull Run or Battle of Manassas.. dug a very interesting mix of things, five minutes after we got there I had already dug 2 of the 4 IHs, all post 1890s mixed in with two of the fired bullets. Found 2 more IHs and a Merc to round out the coins and a few more dropped or fired bullets, some 3 ringers, some round balls and some Gardners. In the same general location I found a Sword Throat (frog?) it has the prong broken off but I did manage to find both pieces. Also found a cool little buckle, sort of like a Kepi buckle but I am not sure what it is from, a percussion cap and a blown out three ringer that was pounded flat! It was a really great day of digging... Thanks again too the Pitdiggers.. always a great dig!!!

That brings the weekend totals to 5 IHs, one CW period, 1 Eagle Button, 13 bullets, the Sword Throat and 1 merc.. all and all.. so far a good weekend!!!

I dug one relic I can't identify..thought it was something related to an artillery fuse but not sure.. here is the link http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,223161.0.html
