Hey guys,
Making your own electrolysis cleaner.
What you will need:
A bucket/container
2 metal alligator clips
12 volt charger
Electrical tape
Piece of donor metal
2 clamps
Any 12 volt charger will work. What you need to do is remove the charger port, or whatever end connects to the device.
There should be two thin wires, both are usually black. The positive wire will have a faint white stripe on it.
Trim the plastic to expose the wires.
Attach the wires to alligator clips.
Wrap the end of the clips where the wires are connected with electrical tape.
The hot wire clip is what you place on the object you want cleaned.
The negative wire connects to the donor metal. The donor metal can be a spoon or any non rusted metal.
When your object is cleaning, the rust, sediments etc will be transferred to your donor piece.
Fill your container with hot water, you can add salt, baking soda, or borax to the water. Borax is found in grocery stores on the washing powder isle.
Place the coin, or item cleaned into the water. You can submerge it onto the clip but try not to submerge your wire.
Place the donor metal with the other clip in the water. Do not let them touch or it will short out your charger.
Plug the device in and you should see the coin begin to bubble or fizz.
That's all there is to it.
