Hey folks, I placed an order last week for 2 boxes of half dollars from a brinks supplied bank (cube style boxes with the dimensions of 5x5x2 rolls). The rolls have always been labeled "brinks" on the side in brown lettering and sealed with tape so the bank/customer can make sure the box was un-tampered with.

Upon picking up my 2 boxes today, both boxes were sealed with the brown tape showing signs that it had NOT been opened since it left the brinks warehouse, so I had higher hopes considering it was likely not a dump.

I opened the first box and saw YELLOW AND WHITE garda wrappers inside with one end folded up poorly, a true sign of a crh dump... opened the second box to see the same exact thing, a CRH dump... no silver in either box, and to make matters worse, some crh'er was so inconsiderate to not even replace the half dollars he/she took out of the box, several rolls popped up 1-2 coins short totaling me to a loss of $8.50 between the two boxes and the frustration, and dumping them the proper way into the coin machine.

I would never give my pickup bank back the coins or even deny the coins at all, even if it cost me money, in this game, it is what it is, but jeez... repacked dumps in a SEALED brinks box, who'da think that would happen? Brinks has been slacking lately..

rant off.

and a note to new CRH'ers, if you recieve a box of coins that is a clear repacked dump, don't deny it, just buy it and keep a relationship with your banks... If you complain about boxes being short, they won't order/sell to you anymore, Afterall, banks don't have to sell us coins(unless we truely have a business account with them-- which most of us don't)

I got a repacked box from Loomis today too. It was depressing as I was opening it and emptying it into the coinlock bag, but ces la vie.

Ive been noticing alot of rolls being short lately too, my uncle was dumping the other day and the manager said he was seeing shortages as well? maybe skimmin off the top there i dont know.

Getting shorted by another hunter is bad for a number of reasons. Somebody's out there giving us a bad name. Honesty is always the best way to go.

This is the horse and the hound and the horn
That belonged to the farmer sowing his corn
That kept the cock that crowed in the morn
That woke the priest all shaven and shorn
That married the man all tattered and torn
That kissed the maiden all forlorn
That milked the cow with the crumpled horn
That tossed the dog that worried the cat
That killed the rat that ate the malt
That lay in the house that Jack built.

Remember people, who are lurking and not members, you are going to hurt no one but yourself doing this.

This is very true, I am not mad that I recieved repacked dumps(though I am a bit upset), however, I am angry that the ignorance of another careless CRH'er shorted rolls at another CRH'er's expense... $8.50 isn't going to break anybody's wallet, but it is the principal of honesty that many crh'ers lack when it comes to situations like this.
I've gotten several $10+ shortages that I did not inform my banks about, it simply isn't worth losing a good bank over.

you can weigh the boxes and find out if they are very short before accepting them

I think this will ruin the bank's relationship, especially bringing in a large scale with me... I look like a freak enough carrying out 2 boxes of halves, haha..

Buff, I've had the same thing happen a few times, more now then in the past. It's a huge let-down, when you set down to enjoy searching a couple of "new" boxes, cut the seal and see that. Sometimes all Garda or mostly Garda with a few unopened brinks maxed in to make it a full box, yeah, Brinks is slacking.:sad1: I hope you see less/no more of this in the future.
This is exactly why I don't understand why people don't take just take a little more time and reroll with new wrappers.:icon_scratch:
And if Brinks was doing any of there job, they would of known the boxes was short.:BangHead:
