Did a little reading and research today and read about a colonial site in some woods, so I mapped it out, packed up my machine and headed out. Not far into the woods right off the path looked to be an old colonial foundation. No stones, but a square hollow indentation in the ground. I began searching and found a dandy type button about an inch down. Musket balls, drawer pull and a couple of dew dads that I have to post under "what is it". Found a Vanilla chocolate container made by Walter Baker & CO from Dorchester MA. There has to be some colonial coins somewhere there. Tons of large trashy metal objects.

There's not much than can beat researching a site and then actually finding
it, and then actually finding relics and coins of the era. I love this hobby.
Like you said, I bet there is a coin or two hiding somewhere there.

Good research and finds. Congrats :icon_thumright:

yo G

From the land of the Bluenose......love those ornate key holes. By the look of the assortment you found at that location another look see is in order for that spot. Gud luck youz!

I like the dandy button the most, beautiful shape.

Just wondering if that Vanilla Chocolate is now the Bakers Chocolate Co.? Might be worth investigating. Nice Find.

You know what Steve, I bet you are correct. The Bakers chocolate factory was the first chocolate factory in America and was located in lower mills Dorchester, MA. This chocolate can says Baker and Dorchester. Good call. :notworthy:
