It's been awhile since I've been able to get out but thought I'd take advantage of the beautiful weather today. The first couple pics are from today and the last one is most of my best finds from this particular site. Spent a couple hours in the iron infested field today where I have recovered a few 1700's pieces and coins. 1747 being the earliest and an 1850 'O' half dime the latest. I have pulled boxes of iron and other brass, glass pieces, etc. out of this spot. Was able to pull another cut coin today (although it's extremely worn), pieces of some pewter spoons, piece to a suspender buckle, cool little buckle (any info would be appreciated), and what I believe is part of a clay pipe (if someone could verify). It's great seeing early items on this forum being recovered and I know these are not as early or nice as alot of relics you all recover, but I do love to find early relics in Western Kentucky.

Thanks for looking!

WOW! Is all of that from the same field? If so, there must have been several old house sites there. Good finds. Tennessee digger

That field has been good to you! Whats up with the bottom coin, looks like it has a little tab on the bottom side of it :icon_scratch: Great finds, thanks for posting it all!

Thanks! This is about a 1 - 1 1/2 acre spot that sits in the middle of about a 100 acre field. An old road ran through this area until the railroad came through and the road moved in 1850. There are some foundation stones scattered in the field but it's hard to tell how many homes existed here in this small area.

Thanks Umrgolf! I have been working on this area on and off for a while! I may need to break out the sifter and give it a go.

Not sure what exactly it is. It's definitley not a coin but resembles a $1.00 Indian Princess Gold coin?? :icon_scratch: Any guesses?

Thanks Dwayne! It's tedious to hunt but always fun!

Man, that is one hot spot.

Those are some great finds.

I think the coin like thing in the center of your third image was part of a bracelet similar to this one? HH :icon_thumright:

I agree, I need to clean up some of my iron before it's dust!
