Another nice day to dig some holes and hit my original old favorite fields. It was windy as heck so I decided to start in a field that was more sheltered and I had found a small site and dug 2 Hibernia halfpennies and a few buttons many years ago. I figured it was worth another shot as the age was right. So I got there, started walking around the iron and it seemed like I would dig a few targets as there was quite a bit more iron than I remember the one time I was there. It seemed to go into the woods which weren't wide open but some room to swing, so you know where I went. :tongue3: I dug maybe 10 old targets including the 42nd buttons that were about a foot apart. The soil was sandy so it's too bad they didn't hold up better, but still a couple of good Rev war finds in my book.

Nice recoveries and they beat my two bubble buttons for age, using the new toy on the site?

congrats on some awesome buttons, would love to find a rev war button someday. until then ill just enjoy seeing yours.

you're living up to your reunion tour this year...it's too bad all our old producers aren't still there

I guess you are headed for double digit rev war buttons this year... that's not happened since when I don't know

Yep, the sad part is how much trash was spread. After I came out of the woods I was pretty fired up to hunt the iron as the buttons were a game changer... or at least confirmation of what I thought...this place sure seems like the right age for a good button. Before I went into the trees I had found a couple plain buttons, but the 2nd round when I put the time in I did dig some old targets, but way more foil. Gotta dig it too as the buttons can sound the same. I still like it out there, and seem to often find a way to make my day, but I also wish I had spent even more time before they spread the trash.

Great finds! I'm glad your enjoying the Deus. Wait until you get used to it even more, it will transform your detecting.

I'm very comfortable with it now. I think it would if I didn't hunt plowed fields, but the plow does the work, and we tend to move on when a field goes quiet and not working over a quiet spot for hours to get the last little bit. I also think it's a forgiving detector, meaning even without much experience a person can do well, where as something like the Explorer it takes a little more time. Hard to explain what I mean, but is how I see it. It's the main reason the people who hated the explorer hate it, it's different than a Deus and most other detectors... but had they given it some time they would have been very surprised what it can do. Both are very good detectors.

Hey IP--any Rev War find is a win, for sure, regardless of condition! Amazing buttons. Congrats. -Lisa & John
