These cufflinks were found by a friend last week. Have both. This was the better of the 2. Clearly an Eagle with crest on top, with an anchor on bottom. Right side lettering is "States". Can't really make out left but I'm sure it's "United". THIS IS A GUESS.......1775-1783 Marine Corp cufflinks. There were only 131 officers and about 2000 men in Marine corps in this time period. They were "disbanded" in 1783 and re-instated in 1798. All the accrutements I have found from 1805 and forward have the Eagle on top but a tipped, or tilted anchor. NOT STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN. This is why I believe they are from the earlier time frame. I cannot find ANY buttons or accrutements from the 1775-1783 time frame. Will consult Troiani's book. ANY IDEAS?? PICKS WILL FOLLOW AS I SCREWED UP.........HOGGE.....Have pics in a jfif file. How do I get them into a Jpeg or supported file on this site?

UPDATE: These are War of 1812 US NAVY Cufflinks. NOT REV WAR! I'll have to work on pics.....member "JEMIC" found one and posted on 9/22/2020 and posted in forum. This whole "jfif" thing is ticking me off!
