Hi guys, John dug these today, and I can't find a match for them during an online search. Could anyone help us ID these? They appear to be brass or copper? And as you can see, one has a 17 on it and one has a 24 on it. Both found in the same area as our other Revolutionary war finds. Also attaching the biggest buckle ever. Thanks and our best to all. -Lisa & John

Don't know about the buttons, but that is one heck of a shoe buckle frame!

Steve--isn't it great? The guy must've had a size 14 shoe! -Lisa

Interesting "button" finds, and conversation. That's one, humongous buckle frame! Thanks for sharing.

Iron--what the heck our window markers anyway? I see lots of pictures of them, but I don't know what their purpose was. Are they old? -L
UOTE=Iron Patch;5123764]I'll bet my next large copper he changes his tune on that one. :) And hopefully that is tomorrow!

Not sure, my interest go sideways once it's fairly clear it's not an early military button. :) I'm sure someone will answer.

Thanks, Tommy! -L&J

Uh oh! IP you're on the loose tomorrow? Nice, good luck.

Lisa, nice window markers. I'm not sure what those are but they are cool.

Record sized shoe buckle you got. They went from function to fashion (larger) in the last part of the 18th century. Yours probably dates to then

Nice finds

Thanks, Scrappy. Yeah--Gulliver's shoe buckle! -L&J

Yeah but nothing hardcore... friend in town who has never detected so we'll give it a shot for a bit. No site in mind, will just drive and see where we end up and if we find anything. Just one thing to add to my collection I will call success... even if it's nothing special - sort of like what Abe usually finds.

Now to pour a drink and watch detecting videos. :occasion14: (poor girl thinks I'm normal)

As mentioned and I agree , marker pins . I have seen those type on wooden baskets to show the assembly workers id and credit for wage .
