Found nice Abbey yesterday. It is shown with a lanceolate point. The Lanceolate point shows a lot of deterioration from being in our acidic soil. The Abbey held up better as you can see from the better flake scars. The other point has some small pieces that has fallen of the point. Strange how rhyolite is affected by our soil.

Quite Nice! Sometimes materials of choice do erode down in time, due to the acidity in the soil. Your ''Abbey'' looks like it may have been utilized as a knife (broad with a more rounded tip).

Most Abbies were made for knives. We find a lot of them sharpened away.

Where these found in two different locations? The Guilford looks to me more like the flakes scars are obscured from thick patina and is probably still well made and green under it

I never thought of it as patina because the surface of the piece flakes off. you are right though they have a core of quality material.
