Be on the look out for this mark - a capital R over a scimitar sword. It’s Riker brothers of newark, NJ. Sells at a substantial premium. Picked up this pin for a $1 at a thrift. The mark is on the little clasp that holds the pin. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1518102021.804192.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1518102105.266355.jpg

Great save !!

Some history:

The company address on Court Street began in 1870 and ended in1926. Meanwhile, the name of the company did not become Riker Brothers until 1892. In 1898 one of the brothers died so the name was probably changed in that year. This suggests that the manufacture year of your pin was between 1892 and 1898.
