Rim fire

The Rim fire has grown to over 125,000 acres. It

started in the Tuolumne river canyon very close

to where Wayne , Ray and I live. Wayne is still

under a mandatory evacuation order while Diane

and I only had to leave our home for one night.

Found out this evening that my friends are at Tuolume City. Cutting trees down for a fire break is what they have been doing. He said the smoke this morning was unbearable as you have mentioned Kuger. Hopefully all the hard work will prove successful. They will be back here sept 10 or 11.

The rim fire is expected to get worse next 2-3 days . Gonna burn over 300k acres at least,
And won't be out till after halloween.

We have 16 guys from my FD from east LA at the fire. When there sending us from East LA to Yosemite ,, NOT GOOD. Wish I was there, but I have 2 tears in my ankle. Out of service.

Anyone that lives nearby, be smart.

Today, Labor day, we are getting some nice rains up here in Grass Valley, without the big lightning. I have heard the local weather guy on Channel 3 say that the Rim Fire has had some rains.

With a good cloudburst, maybe that will put the fire out, or make it easier to handle. What is happening with the weather down there?
