Ring 25 - Motivator

When I get dry spells, I often ponder the value of the time I spend enjoying this hobby. The frustration of day to day life and the struggle to survive, pay bills and tolerate the needless intrusion by others into an otherwise peaceful existence. After walking a field for petty clad for what seemed like hours, gaining a paltry sum of $.63, I decided to go to a nearby field I had marked in my mind as sacred to the group that utilized it. Within 5 minutes, I scored one sprinkler head, and two steps away, the 14k Gold ring shown below. My 25th ring is my 2nd best of the year. Dang, I love this hobby.

6.35 Grams, Can you imagine the finger that could hold a 63.5 gram ring? Only my ex could pull that off.

Ya just have to redefine what is considered a "dry spell". When I think about all the wonderfulness I enjoy while out hunting, the nice walk, sometimes the nature, the excitement of opening Christmas presents on every dig, I ALWAYS find something interesting. On top of all that, out pops this beautiful ring! A greater hobby one just can't ask for nor expect.

I know what you mean, I'll find a cool coin or relic or something, and get that excited feeling of accomplishment, clean it, handle it, come back to it, feel like I can finally get some work done around the house the next day, go to bed and..........wake up the next day and grab the detector!
