Went out on the river today. All of these were found at one location in a washout with my AT Pro. Any information on a date would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Sweet finds !

Thanks...I just wish I knew what time period this stuff is from. I can't tell what the ring is made of...thinking bronze or pewter? Any information is highly appreciated! Thanks.

Washout are you reffering to the beach? Im not that good with slang ;)
But is it only me that thinks that the ring reminds me of roman rings?

Either way it looks old,and it is a great find!
Best of luck!

No I thought the same thing. The construction def looks old as well. I am not saying it is that old, but it does have the look. My initial guess by looking at the construction of it, I would say 19th century or earlier. The musket balls are tough to tell, but the cal. is of that which was also very common during the early 19th century.

Congratulation!!

I'm thinking Medieval or maybe as late as 17th C

Swed,it's an area in a river that washes away with surges of high water and runoff, cuts the top portion of sand and silt, getting down to the GOOD STUFF! Don't concern yourself with the slang of the Western World, you boys got your own,it all means the same, different words.Find some stuff,I like your vids and narations!

The musket balls measure from .54 to .56 . Some have a kind of band around the middle then top and bottom look like they are shaved to be round.

Here is a better picture of the knife. Is the flat piece on top indicative of a certain type of knife?

Now that we know what it is, what would be the best method in preservation? So, it's bronze?

Bronze most likely or any other copper-alloy mix. No need to do anything.

Forgot, I disagree with the Christ image theory, I have seen this bust before on other objects & it's much closer to St John the Baptist.

Early :icon_scratch: vague timeline but I agree it does have a 17 th century look about it ..

Nice Finds Chad.... That Bust of Christ French Jesuit ring looks to be closer to the mid 1600's rather than to late ... These Rings were made of Brass with a high content of zinc to give it more of a silver appearance and now that it has been in the ground for 300+ years it has that gray oxidized look. what is interesting to me is the border .. on yours it has a string of Perls instead of a rope .. I have found only one like that .. this is why I believe it to be a little bit older ... here are a few of my examples and a link to more of them.

RINGS

I added a Bust of King Louis XIV who was the raining monarch of France at the time of contact I would assume that having your face on a ring in those days would put you at a rock star status.
Regards
Bob

Man, that is a way cool ring-find. I'd love to find anything, other than stone tools, that old. Way to go. HH

Bob knows what he's talking about!:icon_thumleft:

Yeah, it seems stones tools have a longer time span of production. Then when metal came around here, the window of time just gets shorter & faster. These items are so much more rare than they are given credit in comparison to the stone technology I think.
