Got a late start this morning because we decided to sleep in. It's been a long week at work for both of us so we really needed it. Since we were later than usual we decided to revisit the park. I expected to find a little clad but personally I was trying to listen and learn to really pay attention to the tones before digging. I tend to overlook signals that arent coins. Well, I think it paid off. My very first signal by one of the sidewalks I got a strong signal. It was bouncing a little but only by a few points. I checked it for iron first bc there are a boatload of bottle caps here and I still can't always pick them out. Still sounded sweet, so I dug. I pulled the plug and hit it with my pro pointer. At first glance I thought it was a blasted bottle tab but once I pushed the dirt out of the middle, I realized I had found my 3rd ring. I dont think its silver, there is no 92.5 anywhere but its still totally intact and has some designs on the band. What a way to start a hunt. Wish I could say I got alot more but not really. The ring was 6 inches deepright next to the sidewalk. It cleaned up good. Wish I knew what kind of metal it was since it has no rust whatsoever?? Any ideas? Aluminum maybe? I also found an old rusty child's butterfly charm bracelet, an old key (my first), and some clad. Thanks for looking and HH!

Lots of rings found by the edge of sidewalks could be silver I fiound a huge silver cuff bracelet I think old stuff wasn't marked till a certain date not sure when Great job. gotta dig those bottle caps!!Thanks for sharing your find!!!!!

if it seems really light its aluminum.I have a few just like it...they hit pretty hard mostly because of their shape

At some point you'll want one anyway, but get a gold & silver test kit with the rubbing stone. Rub the edge of the ring on the stone till you get a layer of it going, and use the 18k test, streak it across the scratching, turns lovely cream blue if it's silver. Don't put a drop on it, smear the solution across the rubbing.

Stainless steel

Thanks everyone! We are pretty certain it is aluminum due to it being so lightweight. But hey, a ring is a ring:icon_thumleft:

Most certainly an aluminum novelty ring, I've got a few of them, but hey, any ring find is a good find! The rush you get makes the hunt a little funner...ddg

I have found quite a few like that they are in the gumball dispenser type machines it is aluminum, my wife likes all the ones I find thank goodness she is easy to please.LOL It still counts as a ring.

KDQ, congrats on your third ring! You hunted in the right place too, love those edges of walkways. I have found dozens and dozens of this type of ring, aluminum I am sure from the photos. Most are made in India and some are marked as such. They are a favorite among the kiddies. I call them "Alumi-rings." Always dig those iffy signals. Sub 8-)

You did your fair share of digging.
They say it takes about 100 hours to really get to know your machine. You are really doing good with the PRO.
Congrats

Keep it up and we'll be able to call you KYRingQueen!

Go get some more.
