Met up with a fellow hunter for the first time today after a year of trying to do so.

Don't know if Bob is interested in wildlife or not...but I brought my Himalayan friend along...so Bob got his first glimpse of the Yeti. :laughing7:

I also brought along my faithful friend and hunting buddy Hercules. He goes with me on every hunt if possible. :angel7:

After some chatting...we got down to some huntin'.

Well after an hour or so..I had nothing but 2 pieces of crap in my pouch. ???

I asked Bob if he minded telling me where he had most of his luck at over the years. He was kind enough to point me to a spot where he had pulled a lot of injuns' out of back in the 80's...so that's where I went. :icon_thumleft:

Within a half hour or so I was able to get a signal through the nulling. This spot was loaded with iron and junk signals...and I mean LOADED.

It ended up being an 1880 Injun...so I was very happy.

About 20 minutes later I got a deeeeep and faint warble...but man was it NICE. It buried the depth meter and was a very tiny window of a hit between the iron...but again..it was a sweet one. :icon_thumleft:

I dug a nice plug of at least 8" and ran the probe. It SANG...and it was a good 2" deeper from what I could tell. :hello2:

I carefully popped out a nice clod/chunk of dark soil from 10" down...and got what I always dream of....a grayish rim barely peeking out from the side of the clod.

I asked Bob and the Yeti if we should pop open my little present to see what I had...or whether I should leave it intact and scan it for the post. We all three unanimously agreed....OPEN it...OPEN it. :laughing9:

The Yeti was guessing barber because of the gray colored rim...so I popped it open to see. We saw the back of what we thought was a barber...UNTIL we flipped it over and took some crust off the front and saw the seated lady peeking at me. :icon_thumleft: YIPPEE! :headbang:

The absolute last thing I expected to see from this beat up park...and coming from 10" down.

It was then that we decided to go to lunch so we could REfuel and come back for more hunting.
I was shaking from the excitement of seeing the seated dime shocker...and was smiling like a little kid. Just ask Bob or Yeti and I'm sure they'll tell 'ya.

I slung the SE in the car...and off we went to eat.

We pulled back in the park an hour or so later...and the Yeti moved with cat like quickness to the trunk to get his machine on first...AND to try and root me out of my hunting spot. He grabbed his XS and said..."What the freak is making all that racket of gibberish back here?"....He then says..."Dude..you were so excited when we left...that you left your dang SE on the whole time"...you forgot to turn it off when we left" ;D :laughing9: :laughing7:

Anyway...we started hunting again...and just as I expected...the Yeti had decided it would be much more fun to help me hunt MY spot...and was rubbing elbows with me again. ;D

Within 15 minutes I had popped out a barber dime from about 8" to 9"...and 1892. Dang missed a second seated dime by only one year.

After that point though...I didn't find SQUAT for the rest of the hunt :laughing9: :laughing7: ...other than a button...a wheatie...and a junk ring.

Bob was kind enough to ruffle my feathers an hour later when he yelled and said.."This is really gonna tick you off...but I just found a Merc you need" :hello:

I was thrilled that we were all finding stuff but it was now time to go. Bob and I were talking when we realized that the Yeti had wondered off somewhere accross the tundra.

I told Bob he probably found some berries to graze on somewhere..and we both got a chuckle. ;D

After 10 minutes or so...Bob spotted the Yeti. He had wandered off way behind the spot I pointed out to him...where my seated had come from the last time here.

Well when he made it back to the car . Bob told him he had wandered to an area where a little goldfish pond had once been.
The Yeti's reply..another classic.... "I got sidetracked from the smell of the Wendy's restaurant accross the street and it pulled me off course" :laughing7: ;D ::) :laughing9:

He then showed us his finds and we realized we had a great day....but more importantly...forum members were able to meet and hunt.

Yeti ended up with 3 silver..some wheaties...the buffalo nickel...and the trinket.

Bob ended up with a Merc and a wheatie.

I ended up with the 1885 Seated dime...1892 barber dime...a wheatie...and the 1880 Injun.

I want to thank Bob for the invitation to hunt with him. It was a long time coming...but worth the wait. He is a great guy...and lots of fun to hunt with.

We will do it again soon.

Another great hunt and story Bryce. Congrats on a very nice seated coin. It's amazing what one of those can do to a man.

You simply amaze me with that ML of yours. That's a nice pic of bob. Was he resting or nesting. :icon_scratch:
