Any idea on what type of rock this may be.

I’d need to see it better; maybe while wet.
I think basalt, but the white specks mislead me. If those are stains, maybe basalt. If they are crystal flakes, I’d rethink it. Thanks for posting. You’ll get better answers soon. 👍🏼
