A coworker of mine knows I’m a watch guy and told me his girlfriend wanted to sell her deceased husbands Rolex. A very nice 1995 datejust with 18k bezel and blue Roman dial. Reference 16234. I gave her a name of the local estate jeweler company as they were reputable. Well he came back and told me they offered her $900 and she declined. I told him Heck I would give her double that in an off the cuff reply. He swung buy on Monday and said she agreed! I was being funny but I jumped on it for $1800. I ran home and got a bunch of scrap gold and got the cash. I probably only have $50 in the scrap gold. Very pleased! Unfortunately she threw away the box after he passed. i hate you

I've been looking for a great deal on a Rolex for some time and have yet to find anything in years of searching. The money would of come out of my wallet so fast it would of caught fire like a meteor penetrating our atmosphere.

Great find!! I'm slightly jealous but its what keeps us all searching for "treasure", wherever it may be found....

You gotta deal. Who knows what that'll be worth 10 years down the road? Bummer the box and papers where discarded.

Beautiful watch, very classy, and stylish, would wear it to work every day! congratulations.

Beautiful enjoy it!

great buy JD, you got a steal, I just offered $2400 for a 2005 two-tone ladies datejust and the lady told me to pound sand. Call around to some rolex dealers and buy the original box for it.

I am hoping the Girlfriend finds the watch box. She said she thought she threw it away but is still looking it. I do have this older box that I got when I bought my 1954. Unfortunately one of the hinges broke off. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1511196304.618675.jpg

That was a steal! Did you flip it or keep it.

I still have it. First rolex, being so young, I figured I'd keep it. I would only sell it for the right price, and its worth a little more to me than the market value, so in the jewelry box it'll stay!
