We spotted this field yesterday whilst scouting about. It had a large amount of failed oilseed rape so we thought we would try it out. When we got to the top of the hill where we have a Roman Site, we saw that area was perfectly flat & recently seeded. Therefore we started to grid over the previously productive spot.
We finished just shy of 5 hours with an excellent result for this time of year:
15 Roman Bronze Coins
2 Hammered - Charles I Penny & Cut Shortcross of Henry III
Siliqua of Julian II
First Roman Silver off this site after 4 years hunting.

Besides the bronzes and coppers the short cross is a real nice find, getting the other hammered and the Siliqua of Julian II now that makes the day just sweet. Congrats to both of you for great day out and getting the first silver after 4 yrs on this field.
