This site has been gridded hard over the last few years & it never had that many Roman silver finds. However, it's had a small 6 inch turn after the bean crop last year & the conditions are perfect. Drilled with Winter Wheat, rolled flat & wet! Game on....
We didn't expect to do as well as this, so another nice day in the sun, perfect weather, cool but dry.:sunny:
We gridded the main area for 5.5 hours & came up with the following;

16 Roman Coins (1 nice one)
17th C Button (Civil War period)
Large 18th C Blow-hole Button
Buckles
Roman Pin Head
Broken Book Clasp
Bits...
2 Hammered I need - Irish Ed I Dublin Mint, Ed IV Arch Bishop Booth of York Penny:coffee2:

Congrats on another great bunch of finds

Another nice hunt. I'd love to see your collection. Thanks

HH RN

Amazing finds as usual! I'm with Relic Nut - would love to see your collection. I'll bet it would put some museums to shame.

Good haul for a site gridded before! I wonder what happen if such a site had a 16" plow like usual here...complete new game i guess.

I would be over the moon for a 12" plough.

Wonderful hammered, and that whole spectacle buckle is great. I would consider 2 album fillers a successful venture out.

Wow!!!! Very nice indeed! :headbang:

Ah yes...god bless the plough!

Another outstanding day in the field, congratulations! :notworthy:

Is that small silver coin a second one of that type you found before during this year ?

Nice finds! Congrats on finding the hammered silver! HH

Cru, it's always enjoyable to see relics that we may never find here in the States. As always, thanks for sharing your excellent finds. -Lisa & John

Nope, that was a very rare Richard III Penny.

Great job Cru
One question. You have seen my coins and they date around 300-200 Bc. It looks to me like some of them have more details than your roman coins. If you agree, you think it depends on the soil or on the bronze they have been using?

Its more to do with the chemicals they put on my fields & being hit by the plough every year. Kills the patina.

Nice hammered silvers and the roman bronze in the lower left corner is in nice condition!
