This site has been gridded hard over the last few years & it never had that many Roman silver finds. However, it's had a small 6 inch turn after the bean crop last year & the conditions are perfect. Drilled with Winter Wheat, rolled flat & wet! Game on....
We didn't expect to do as well as this, so another nice day in the sun, perfect weather, cool but dry.:sunny:
We gridded the main area for 5.5 hours & came up with the following;

16 Roman Coins (1 nice one)
17th C Button (Civil War period)
Large 18th C Blow-hole Button
Buckles
Roman Pin Head
Broken Book Clasp
Bits...
2 Hammered I need - Irish Ed I Dublin Mint, Ed IV Arch Bishop Booth of York Penny:coffee2:

Ah yes...god bless the plough!

Yeap, but in this case it was more the perfect conditions that played the largest part.
