This site has been gridded hard over the last few years & it never had that many Roman silver finds. However, it's had a small 6 inch turn after the bean crop last year & the conditions are perfect. Drilled with Winter Wheat, rolled flat & wet! Game on....
We didn't expect to do as well as this, so another nice day in the sun, perfect weather, cool but dry.
We gridded the main area for 5.5 hours & came up with the following;
16 Roman Coins (1 nice one)
17th C Button (Civil War period)
