Roman/Saxon Site - Day 5...

I'm nearly back to full strength & I was glad to get some fresh air with Dad for just less than 2 hours. This maybe our last hunt of the year. :dontknow:

I mentioned before on this field about the modern trash & they have seemed to laid it thickest in the best Roman area. :sadsmiley:

So lots to dig, & some ignores (which I hate).

Still for a short hunt we did well:

13 Roman Coins
Broken Medieval Buckle
Nice 17th C Button (Design I need, maybe)
Roman 'Bar shaped' strap/belt Mount - Not had this type before, it's suggested that its military related.
My last little bit of silver for the year - a surprise - Billion Swiss 1813 3 Soldi :icon_scratch:

My end of year post will show a mixed result. Overall, it's been a good year for some types of finds. We also did far less hours than normal, as it was another unusual year for the harvest etc..

Freakin Roman coins.....unreal. I know a fairly common thing I guess to those living on Her Majesty's Isle...but WOW!!! I would flip out over such an old find. Thanks for showing us :icon_thumleft:

I felt the same when I got my first after years of searching, now I know where to look with the right machine, it normally works out about 1 an hour average across the year.
