Could be croquetI was going to say a game ball like croquet but if it's something like rock/bone or ivory not sure
I was thinking the same thing. If the diameter of the ball is 2 & 1/4 inches, there's a good chance that it is a Bocce "pallino" (small target ball that the players try to get close to with the larger balls that are rolled out of their hands)Croquet or bocci
It's not perfectly round it has a couple places on it that aren't.. it's definitely made of stone or ivoryI was going to say a game ball like croquet but if it's something like rock/bone or ivory not sure
You can test if it's ivory, get a sewing needle red hot and stick it to the ball, if it does nothing it's stone, if it smells awful and chars the ball it's ivory. It's not perfectly round it has a couple places on it that aren't.. it's definitely made of stone or ivory
Not clay ? Clay marbles can be irregular. It's not perfectly round it has a couple places on it that aren't.. it's definitely made of stone or ivory
Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!This was found in the woods in Southwest Virginia.. It's made of what appears to be rock..
In Ireland we called it a Taw,, maybe Taugh... pronounced the first spelling taw...The largest marbles are often called "Grandfathers," "Bullies," or "Jumbos," and can be the size of a billiard ball or larger, serving as powerful "shooters" in games, with other slang terms including Bumboozer, Boulder, or Masher.
