Round thing with two fish...

[7creeks]

Found this at a old cellar hole. Its measures 1.25" diameter. I'm guessing it an old toy. Any ideas....

It does look like a toy plate with two fish on it. Tony

Camping Barbie?

[releventchair]

Early chocolate mold or single serving sized pat of butter?
Chinese?
(Two fish, or a pair of fish (shuang yu 双鱼), represent happiness in marriage.)

about the coolest thing posted on here in a while....maybe there was a handle on it like a frying pan?

Nice! Early pewter toy plate or skillet. One was excavated at rocky nook Massachusetts in what I think was a 17th century context. Details here

The rocky nook find was called a plate but it could be a skillet if the damage looks like there used to be a handle.

uh Christ in the bible is said to have fed the masses with "two fish" and 5 loaves of bread ... so it might have some religious meaning... like hanging it on the wall of your home /cabin --means that god will "provide" so that you do not go hungry ....

That is it. This came from an 1800's home site. Most of the coins found from the place are large cents. Only found one Indian head cent. Few pewter spoons and lots of Tomback buttons.
