Rubies in River?

Many of our best finds are rivers, streams and dried op lakes or river beds.. So it's entirly possible that what you have are rubies.. Star Rubies even.. It's a good idea to have a few refeance books on hand to compare and make sure you really clean them.. Post pics would be nice for others to help ID them.

They could be.
There is a greater probability that they are garnets.

like advice before me, garnets would be my 1st guess, but possible ruby too.

I agree with Baja, garnets are more likely.
