Running wild in the washes

Ok so much for titles but for those of us who use washes to gain access our prospects what do use to traverse them? I used a Hyundai Santa Fe and it was a little scared to go too far down the wash. Sand was semi compacted but i didn't want to risk going deeper. Does anyone know where you can rent four wheel jeeps in Phoenix. I thought maybe a quad would be cheaper but it is not cost effective.

I use my utv with a trailer to haul my dredge. Also been known to run around on a big tired mini bike.
