Back at the colonial site working the nooks and crannys and came across one of my best buttons to date. From what I read, its SC Militia Rifle and from the other artifacts I'd say around War of 1812.

The one item I'm not sure about is a round with a hole in the middle, it is a hair over 1.2" at its widest and it tapers in width like it was inserted into something.

The oval button, could be a cuff link, seems to have a flower pattern but its pretty faint. The other button is a tombac.

The item at the top is the worlds first spork...

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Nice hunt, outstanding Militia button, congrats on all

I think the thing with a hole might be a crude version of the end of a wick adjuster for a lantern.
You didn't mention the 17th C spoon end?

Like Crusader mentioned - your "spork" is tail end of a 1600s trefid style spoon - rare to find complete - i have many tail ends such as yours and
when i find them - I get excited. Good sign you are in a good area in the US.

here is my complete one

Keep up the good work :icon_thumleft:

your oval cufflink/button???
could be Im seeing what i want to see kind of thing
but looks like I see 3 puffy feathers which would be Welsh Fusilier - if it is - its another cool find

the round object you inquired about - i think is just a bronze washer for an old nail
hole
looks way to small for a wick - i think i have found a few of them from colonial fields
they would use on something that moves where with out it nail/rivet could work its way into and thru the wood
such as maybe on a wagon where the movement back and forth would pull on the nail or rivet- that would act as
a washer and prevent the head from being pulled into and thru the wood

an example of welsh fuselier button - especially the left side of yours - looks like the shape of the left feather

That is incredible. Thank you for the ID, I would have never guessed. I've never seen a spoon like that before.

Awesome finds. Imagine if we can get that place mowed and disked.

I'm glad someone put an ID on your spork. My guess was going to be that it was 3/4 of a copper arrowhead.

Nice militia rifleman's button. Does it have a backmark?

That button is amazing. You should use a little lemon juice or aluminum jelly on it and it should shine like new.

Awesome finds. Congrats!

Very nice hunt, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

I tried to get a better angle but not much detail. I am going to get some aluminum jelly. I think I am seeing what I want to see in a Windsor Rose but I did find a Royal Provincial Button and a British 1st Foot Guard Button at the same site.
