Ok...little exercise in navigation...curious to hear thoughts and where, and why..and chosen routes.

Suppositions-

It's the 1790's...

Your a merchant vessel under sail, leaving Mole Saint-Nicholas... ((NW) corner of Haiti)

You head Due North out of Port

Your headed for London...

It's June

What would your track likely be?

British-trade-routes-as-shown-by-ship-logs-between-1750-and-1800-The-Guardian-18th.webp

Earlier and not directly related but...

1683_Mortier_Map_of_North_America,_the_West_Indies,_and_the_Atlantic_Ocean_-_Geographicus_-_A...webp

Let me alittle more specific...

Caico's passage?..Crooked Island passage? etc etc etc....

View attachment 1875918 my choice for a June departure. Once through the passage a single long tack to bermuda on predominantly east trade winds this time of year. Hopefully ? At least you would be hoping for good trades for some of that voyage.....the sargasso you could be...becalmed but you start the westerly and homeward bound.

Off the cuff answer.....no research....just sailing instinct !!

Bart...attachment didn't come thru..interested to hear your ideas....

Thanks

And lets assume...your part of a LARGE merchant convoy...over 100 hulls
