Neat pic! Did the wrecks happen before or after the lighthouse? ;D
The light house was built in 1758 due to the number of ships that were falling victim to the many shoals in the area. Since the time it was built there have been hundreds of wrecks in the area, most from running on to the rocks but some were torpedoed by German subs.
We usually camp out on the island once a year, it is one of the best diving spots in Nova Scotia.

Sounds neat. My sons and I dive also but we don't have any good wreck sites nearby. We are in the Pacific Northwest area in California.

Absolutely gorgeous!

All the best,

Lanny

Beautiful photo.
Testing to see if more will show fromosted in photobucket online.

Thanks all for the nice comments. It is in-dead a beautiful spot but I don't think I would want to be out there during a large storm. I am sure the waves would make it all the way to the light house. Would make for some nice photos though.
